This is Newsletter 02 for our 2026 event The Hogs Ball at Llamedos Holiday Camp.
In this newsletter, we are going to share snippets about The Hogs Ball at Llamedos Holiday Camp and also some important news about hotel rooms!
First up…
What is Llamedos Holiday Camp all about then?
The Llamedos Holiday Camp is a Holiday Camp like no other.
For a start, it's in a hotel, with a bar and a spa!
You, the potential guest, are invited to come and spend a weekend in a little place in Llamedos on the Discworld. Yes, in a bit of the Disc.
You will treat the place like you live in Ankh-Morpork or Uberwald or Genua, Four-ecks or elsewhere on the Disc and become a citizen on holiday.
All the activities are the kind you would find in a holiday camp if they had actually existed in Llamedos.
Imagine being judged in the Witch Trials by Granny Weatherwax herself or entering the Nobby's Knees competition, singing on stage at the Talent Contest or winning the Dragon racing!
All this and much more may happen at the Llamedos Holiday Camp, but it will only be really fun if you all take part in as many events and activities as possible.
Of course The Hogs Ball is a special time of year, when sausages and turnips are adorning tables, and trees are decorated with hogs and pies. The activities change to the theme of the event, and whilst The Witch Trials and The Dragon Racing will not be returning, there will be other things in their places.
And with the Camp in full prep mode for The Big Day itself, the campers will need to be working together to make sure they are on the Nice List for when the Hogfather rides in and leaves presents for those who made it.

For new campers, coming to an event like Llamedos Holiday camp can be quite daunting on your own. Even with a friend, it can be quite challenging not knowing what to expect or if you'll make friends whilst you are there.
This is where our tried and tested genealogy / geology / familiariology / wemadeitupology system comes into play.
Many returning campers know how well our system of families / caverns / scout regions has worked at our past events especially for those coming along on their own for the first time and will be wondering what is the crack for The Hogs Ball.
Well, wonder no more !

Families are back !
The most festive time of the year wouldn't be the same without your family surrounding you, fighting with you, playing with you, competing with you… against the other families of course, for the converted honour of being "The Best Family"!
This time around we have 7+1 families for you to choose to be a part of, or you can choose "Rwby's Choice" which will mean our camp director will choose for you.
Each Family will contain up to 19 Campers only.
The Families attending this time around are:
- The King Family
- The Cutwell Family
- The Ironfounderson Family
- The Dibbler family
- The Bluestone Family
- The Von Uberwald Family
- The Garlick Family
- The Malick Family
The campers really are your family at Llamedos Holiday Camp, the seasoned campers share all the traditions and help the new campers fit into the Camp.
One thing about our families is that they are very supportive of their fellow family members, but they are also really competitive, in a lovely friendly way.
We will be pushing out posts about the families and how YOU can fully become a member of one in the next week.
Which takes us to the important news …
Accommodation
I've already received emails about how to book a hotel room!
Be aware though, until you've got a ticket, you cannot book at The Sessile Oak or The Diplomat Hotel anyway!
Prices and what is included.
The Diplomat Hotel
Price is per night and includes breakfast.
- Twin/Double room for 2 people - £142
- Single room for 1 person - £120
- Camping or Camper Van - per night per person £35
Deposit will need to be paid by 27th Oct 2025 (usually via a phone call) with balance due 26th Jan 2026 (automatically taken)
Extra nights can be booked.
Free Parking at The Diplomat Hotel is included.
The Sessile Oak
The Sessile Oak price does NOT include Breakfast which can be purchased upon arrival at The Sessile Oak for eating at The Sessile Oak.
Price PER ROOM for the duration of:
Checking in Fri 6th March 2026 - Check out Mon 9th March 2026
Approx £230 tbc before we make hotel rooms available.
The rooms here are family, accessible and twin/double rooms.
Free Parking is standard at The Sessile Oak.
Payment will need to be made to Llamedos Holiday Camp at the beginning of October IN FULL.
If you choose a room at The Sessile Oak and get one allocated to you, you will receive an invoice from Rincewind for payment.
We can arrange extra nights if needed at an extra cost TBC.
NB. If you do not pay within the time specified on the invoice, you will forfeit your room and will have to find accommodation elsewhere.
Transport Pass
We will be providing the opportunity to purchase a transport pass (for those staying at the Sessile Oak) which will include:
- Minibus pick up from The Sessile Oak on Friday (set times only) before Dinner
- Coach pick up at approx 9-9.30am Saturday and Sunday
- Minibus Drop Off after Good Night Campers on Fri, Sat and Sunday We will provide more information including the price of this closer to the event.
Anyone who chooses to stay at The Premier Inn in Pemberton can also take advantage of the Transport pass, but be aware the walk over to The Sessile Oak is not a direct walk as many think it is. We can provide a map with the best route though!

Remember, tickets go on sale on the 1st July at 6pm BST and can only be bought on our website!
