Llamedos Holiday Camp Scout Jamboree - Newsletter 3
Rincewind here - don't tell Rwby I'm writing to you. She left her laptop open on her desk and is off sorting some ideas for the Scout Jamboree so I'll try to be swift.
On Saturday 1st July 2023 at 12 noon, the tickets for the Llamedos Scout Jamboree 2024 will go on sale. Tickets cost £135.00 each and include your dinner main course on Friday and Saturday, access to the costume ball (with main and dessert on the Sunday), and your very own amazing essentials knapsack full of items that you'll need over the course of the event.
What to expect on Saturday 1st!
Make sure you head over to The Ticket Page just before noon and watch our infamous countdown. When the timer hits zero the page will refresh and you'll be able to access a button that will take you to the order page.
You don't need to log in beforehand (in fact you won't be able to as you don't yet have an account, that will come later).
From the order page you will be able to add up to four tickets to your cart. Once you have the required number of tickets you will be able to click on the Checkout button to go to the checkout page.
On the checkout page you will see a summary of your order and a section where you will need to provide some information. You will need to tick the box to agree to all of our policies. You will also need to provide your full name, your email address (please type this carefully - your tickets are reserved for 15 minutes so don't rush this bit), your telephone number and your payment card details.
Once you have checked your details. Press Submit Payment to process your order.
Please note that we use Stripe to process your payments. Llamedos won't get any details of your transaction, just a confirmation when you have successfully made payment.
You will get a couple of emails. One from stripe confirming that it has taken payment from your account and one from us inviting you to set up your account. The email from us will have a link with a magic number that confirms you are the owner of the email address you used on the order page (this link is time limited so please confirm your account as soon as possible).
When you click on the link or copy the URL to your browser you will be taken to a page on our website where you will be asked to enter a password for your account. After you have created your password you will be able to log into your guest area.
If you don't get an email straight away please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll see what we can do to assist. Please don't go back and order again (Yes Dave and Lynn that means you!).
What happens next?
Please log into your guest area where you will find a summary of your tickets. Please go into each of the tickets and edit them to provide all the information that we need.
We do ask for some personal information on the tickets such as dietary requirements (this helps us work with the hotel to provide safe food for all) and health information, in case you fall ill while with us and we need to give the paramedics as much useful information as possible. (Only Rwby and myself have access to that information and we will only use it in case of an emergency). The information you provide will be deleted from our database once the event has finished and you are safely on your way home.
After the initial rush to get tickets you can relax until the 1st August at 7pm, when we will be giving you the chance to select your troop. In the guest area a link will become available against each of your tickets which will allow you to choose from one of the nine available troops.
We have limited numbers of spaces in each troop so you may find some troops fill up quicker than others. If you want to be with friends but miss out on your preferred troop, email us at email@example.com and we'll see what we can sort out.
Once you make your choice you will not be able to change it afterwards. If you have made a mistake contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll see what we can do for you.
We have created a list of our troops for you to peruse and discuss amongst yourselves.
We will start taking hotel books at the beginning of August. The Diplomat Hotel doesn't have enough rooms to cater for everyone which is why we also have a standby hotel called The Sessile Oak. See our accommodation page for more details.
We will allocate hotel rooms based on individual needs. People willing to share rooms will be given priority. Please bear with us as this is a very complex process and causes us more than a few sleepless nights.
If you are unsuccessful in getting a room in The Diplomat you will be offered a room in the Sessile Oak. Once the Sessile Oak is full you may have to find accommodation elsewhere.
If there is sufficient interest, we will be arranging a coach service to take you from the Sessile Oak to The Diplomat each day and a mini bus service to get you back in the evening.
For the brave of you, The Diplomat have agreed to allow you to camp on their lawn. There is a charge for this that will ensure you get a decent Diplomat breakfast and use of the spa facilities (including showers etc).
